Sheldon Gnatt is a partner in the law firm of Knight, Manzi, Nussbaum & LaPlaca, P.A. Mr. Gnatt has practiced law since 1982; he concentrates his law practice in the areas of employer/employee matters and personal injury and other litigation.
Mr. Gnatt has presented Employment Law topics at seminars of the Maryland and Prince George's County Chambers of Commerce, the Maryland Association of Boards of Education, the Maryland Institute for Continuing Professional Education of Lawyers (MICPEL), and the Maryland Municipal Attorneys Association and has published numerous articles on such topics.
Mr. Gnatt is an experienced mediator, certified after completing the forty-hour course in Mediation prescribed by the Maryland Rules.
Mr. Gnatt attended the New York University School of Law and then completed law school and obtained his Juris Doctor from the Catholic University of America in 1980. He served as a Law Clerk from 1980 to 1982 for the Honorable Robert H. Mason, Associate Judge of the Seventh Judicial Circuit of Maryland, in Prince George's County. Mr. Gnatt was admitted to the Maryland Bar in 1981 and the District of Columbia and U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland Bars in 1982. In 1986, he was admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, and in 2005, he was admitted to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
Mr. Gnatt is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association, the District of Columbia Bar, and the Prince George's County Bar Association. Mr. Gnatt has served as Chairman and Co-Chairman of the Labor and Employment Law Committee of the Prince George's County Bar Association from 1990 to 1997 and from 2003 to the present, and served as a Member of the Board of Directors of that Association from 1994 to 1998. He served on the Executive Committee of that Board of Directors from 1996 to 1998.
