Mr. Manzi has practiced law in Prince George's County for nearly 35 years and is a senior partner in the law firm of Knight, Manzi, Nussbaum & LaPlaca, P.A. His practice is focused in the areas of zoning and land use as well as municipal and corporate law.
Mr. Manzi is City Attorney for the cities of Greenbelt, Maryland; Laurel, Maryland and New Carrollton, Maryland. In such capacity he defends the cities and advises on a myriad of issues including contracts; personnel; condemnation; bond issues; annexation and the like.
Mr. Manzi has handled zoning matters in Prince George's, Calvert, Charles and St. Mary's Counties. He has handled major commercial, industrial and residential developments as well as special exceptions for churches, elderly housing and daycare centers. He is also Counsel to the Prince George's County Industrial Development Authority who funded the courthouses in Upper Marlboro and Hyattsville.
In addition to the above, Mr. Manzi has an active business practice including the formation of business entities including corporations, limited liability companies and partnerships. He serves on the Board of Directors of several of his client's companies.
On the civic side, Mr. Manzi has served on state and county commissions concerned with restructuring the zoning, subdivision and road ordinances. Recently he served on the Governors Route 301 Task Force and was an alternate on Commission 2000 which was charged with developing a growth policy for Prince George's County, Maryland. He is also past President of the Upper Marlboro Rotary Club.
Mr. Manzi is a member of the Maryland, District of Columbia and U.S. District Court Bars and the Prince George's County Bar Association. Mr. Manzi graduated from St. Bonaventure University with a B.A. in English and received his law degree from the University of Maryland.
