Andrew Nussbaum is a partner in the law firm of Knight, Manzi, Nussbaum & LaPlaca, P.A. located in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. His practice is heavily focused on School Law and Workers' Compensation.
Mr. Nussbaum has been practicing law for almost 30 years, primarily in Prince George's County, Maryland and surrounding jurisdictions. He has appeared before Workers' Compensation Commissioners, Administrative Law Judges of the Maryland Office of Administrative Hearings, Maryland District Courts and Circuit Courts, the Maryland Court of Special Appeals and Court of Appeals. In addition, he has handled matters in the United States District Court for Maryland and the Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. He has also appeared before the Courts of the District of Columbia.
He has been a presenter at numerous seminars on School Law issues before local school systems and for locally and nationally recognized organizations which present seminars on legal topics. Additionally, Mr. Nussbaum teaches School Law for educators through McDaniel College and the Johns Hopkins University. He is an active member of the Maryland Council of Local School Board Attorneys, and has served as its President; and he is a member of the Council of School Attorneys of the National School Boards Association.
Mr. Nussbaum is admitted to practice before all Maryland Courts, the Supreme Court of the United States, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, the United States District Court for the District of Maryland and for the District of Columbia, and the Courts of the District of Columbia.
He holds a Juris Doctor degree (with honors) from the National Law Center of The George Washington University and a Bachelor of Arts degree (with honors) from Stanford University.
